Spring has sprung here in Central Florida. Temperatures are warming up and lawns are greening up, ours are anyway! February and March are the months when it is important to get some good slow release fertilizer down and to get control of spring broadleaf weeds before it gets too hot to treat them. All of our lawns have had weeds and crabgrass treated over the last couple of months and all will have their slow release fertilizer application by the end of this month. If you’re not on a fertilization program the time to begin is now.
As we move towards the end of April and into the hated month of May irrigation maintenance will be the most important part of your lawn care program. If your system has not been checked zone by zone for problems by the time May hits you risk losing grass in those areas where coverage is poor due to non-functioning or clogged spray heads. Regular system checks are a must. We can help here too.
We are now offering an irrigation system maintenance plan to keep your system working properly. Five times per year we will check your timer for proper operation, set it for local restrictions, set the time per zone based on what YOUR lawn shows it needs, check each zone for broken heads or pipes, clean obstructed nozzles and advise you on more advanced repairs that need to be made. We do all this while we are there treating the lawn or shrubs so we can do it for much less than an irrigation company is going to charge.
